Dumpster Rental FAQs
How does the rental process work? +
Pick a size, choose a date, and book online. We deliver, you fill it, and we haul it away on your scheduled pickup day.
What size dumpster do I need? +
Our 15 yard bin handles most jobs — garage cleanouts, small remodels, and kitchen/bath renos. Call and we'll confirm it's the right fit in two minutes.
How fast can you deliver? +
Same- or next-day delivery is common across the Sacramento area. Book before noon for the best shot at same-day.
How long is the rental? +
Standard rental is up to 5 days. Additional days are $40/day. Extensions are easy — just call before pickup.
What does it cost? +
Flat pricing starts at $470 for a 15 yd in Sacramento County. See the Sizes & Pricing page for city-by-city pricing.
What can I put in the dumpster? +
Most household, construction, and yard debris is fine. See Accepted & Prohibited Materials for the full list.
What's not allowed? +
No hazardous waste, liquids, paint, batteries, or asbestos. When in doubt, ask.
Do I need to be home for delivery? +
No — as long as the drop spot is clear and accessible. Leave instructions when you book.
Do I need a permit? +
Only if the bin sits on a public street. Driveway or private-property drops don't need one. Check with your city if unsure.
Will the dumpster damage my driveway? +
We do everything possible to prevent damage. Our delivery truck is smaller than a normal full-size semi, so it's a lot lighter — and the bins don't weigh any more than a car does.
How much space do I need? +
The bins are only 11' long — about the size of a mini van. The truck is about 22 ft long, so plan on a couple of vehicle lengths of clearance to place it in the spot.
Is there a weight limit? +
Yes, there is a max load of 5000lbs allowed in the bin. Any more and the truck would be over loaded.
Do you take business/property-manager accounts? +
Yes — we work with realtors, property managers, and general contractors on regular schedules or on-call.
Who owns Longs Trash Hauling? +
Jim Long. He founded the company in 2006 and still runs it day-to-day out of Sacramento. He's the one you'll talk to on the phone and the one delivering the dumpsters.
